World Book Day 2016

On Friday Merton Abbey celebrated World Book Day. Children and adults dressed up as their favourite book characters and spent the day involved in exciting activities inspired by books such as Matilda, Alice in Wonderland, the Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch and Harry Potter. Some of these activities included making crazy hats for a Mad Hatter's tea party, designing and creating slices of cake eaten by Bruce Bogtrotter, writing picnic poems and making finger puppets of Harry Potter characters inspired by 'The Mysterious Ticking Noise'. Throughout the day the children listened to stories read to them by staff and parent visitors and had plenty of opportunities to read a book themselves.
