Primary Practice Graduation

Over the past few weeks some year 5 pupils have been taking part in the Primary Practice programme. Trainee doctors have used real life contexts to teach the pupils medical skills, such as putting on a sling, taking a pulse and how to wash their hands like a doctor

Today was the 6th and final week and the students went to St George's hospital for their graduation. Prior to graduating they continued to build on their medical skills and learnt to read blood pressure, use a stethoscope and to read lung capacity. During the graduation the children were presented with a certificate, a St George's teddy and they got to keep their own stethoscope!
