Year 4 to Tate Britain
Schools across London have been taking part in a project led by the artist Steve McQueen with the Tate gallery. Every Year 3 class across the capital has been invited to take part in one of the largest group portraits ever made and to see their class photograph among thousands of others in an exhibition at the Tate Britain in central London.
Merton Abbey was delighted to be part of this and the children, who are now in year 4, recently travelled to the Tate to view our photograph! Our photo will appear as part of the free public exhibition at Tate Britain from November 2019 until May 2020 along with thousands of other class photographs from primary schools London-wide.
