Christingle 2018
Wed 19 Dec 2018On Tuesday 18 December children in Y3 - Y6 went to St John's Church for a Christingle Service. The significance of Christmas was explained and the children sang Christmas songs.

Year 6 Visit to Kensington Palace
Wed 19 Dec 2018On 11 December Year 6 took part in a pilot programme run by the National Literacy Trust and Kensington Palace. After a visit to the Palace children worked hard to produce some fantastic pieces of writing. Well done to Chloe, Elina, Tharshika and Prince who were selected to be included in the Kensington Palace Writers Anthology!

Christmas Fair

Visit to the Imagination Lab by Year 6
Wed 12 Dec 2018On Wednesday 28th November, Year 6 went to the Imagination Lab to learn more about coding. Working collaboratively, children designed and built their own Lego robots ('hybrid cars of the future'); they used sequence, selection, and repetition to programme and logic to explain how some simple algorithms work. It was an incredibly engaging, hands-on workshop that inspired the children to think about how they can create solutions for the future.

Year 3 trip to Deen City Farm
Wed 12 Dec 2018Year 3 visited Deen City Farm on the morning of 6 December. The children got into the Christmas spirit and really enjoyed singing carols and listening to the nativity story. Some children dressed up to help tell the story!

Merton Class Balanceability Bike Training

On 30 November the children in Merton Class (Reception) participated in Bike Training with Balanceability. The children each had a turn to practice on a balance bike and develop their skills in balancing, gliding on the bike, turning and stopping. The cycle instructor also discussed the importance of safety when using a bicycle.
